Statement from Boston City Councilor and Mayoral Candidate Michelle Wu Regarding Walsh Administration Police Accountability Office
Released: November 12, 2020
Boston, MA— “I look forward to reviewing the proposal and will press for details on how the Mayor plans to fund not only this new office, but important public safety efforts that have been starved of the budget needed to make change.
We need to completely overhaul how we think about public safety and public health. We’ve heard this over and over from thousands of Boston residents who have delivered impassioned testimony to the City Council, written countless emails, and organized our communities to stand up in the face of a failing system that continues to endanger, rather than protect, our Black and Brown residents.”
