The window to reverse climate change is closing quickly, and the time is now to transition to a thriving green economy and sustainable communities with a city-level Green New Deal for Boston. In partnership with community activists and organizations, Michelle has released her report on a Boston Green New Deal & Just Recovery that shows the unique power of cities to bring about structural change and lays out an ambitious policy roadmap for delivering the kinds of structural changes we need in order to provide our kids a future built on sustainable energy, good jobs, and healthy, connected communities.
Boston can lead the charge to mitigate the threats of climate change, eliminate the violences of poverty and economic inequality, close the racial wealth gap, and dismantle structural racism. Climate justice is racial and economic justice. Michelle has a plan to meet the scale and urgency of need in our communities.
